Finance Training Programs Starting September 2025

We've spent the last year redesigning our curriculum from scratch. Not because the old one was broken—but because the finance industry doesn't wait for anyone. These aren't cookie-cutter online courses. They're structured programs with real instructors, actual deadlines, and people you'll learn alongside.

12-Week Program

Sep 15 - Dec 7, 2025

Investment Analysis Fundamentals

You'll work through real company financials—not textbook examples. We pull data from actual ASX-listed companies and walk through valuation methods that analysts use daily.

18 hours Core Content

Portfolio Construction Workshop

Build a mock portfolio with constraints that mirror what fund managers face. You'll learn why diversification isn't just "don't put all eggs in one basket" and how correlation actually works in practice.

24 hours Hands-On Work

Risk Management Practicum

This section covers how professionals measure and manage downside exposure. We use historical market data from 2008, 2020, and other volatile periods to see what actually happens when things go sideways.

15 hours Case Studies

Financial Modeling Intensive

Three-statement models, DCF analysis, and sensitivity testing. You'll get comfortable with Excel shortcuts and formulas that make modeling faster and less error-prone.

22 hours Technical Skills

Market Dynamics Study

What moves markets? We look at macro factors, central bank policy, geopolitical events, and behavioral psychology. It's less about prediction and more about understanding the landscape.

16 hours Theory + Practice

Professional Standards Module

Ethics, compliance, and client management. Boring? Maybe. Essential? Absolutely. We cover real scenarios that financial professionals navigate regularly.

12 hours Industry Standards

Who's Actually Teaching This

Both instructors have worked in roles where getting it wrong had real consequences. They bring that experience into the classroom—not to intimidate, but to show you how theory plays out in practice.

Henrik Lindqvist - Senior Investment Analyst and Course Instructor

Henrik Lindqvist

Investment Analysis Lead

Henrik spent nine years at a mid-sized fund in Melbourne before moving into education. He's worked through market cycles that tested every assumption he had about risk and return. His teaching style is direct—he'll tell you when something is genuinely complex and when it's just poorly explained.

CFA Charterholder 15 Years Industry Equity Research
Siobhan Gallagher - Risk Management Specialist and Program Director

Siobhan Gallagher

Risk Management Specialist

Siobhan has built risk frameworks for institutional clients and seen what happens when those frameworks get ignored. She focuses on practical application—how do you actually implement these concepts when you're managing real money or advising real clients? Her background in both quantitative analysis and client-facing roles gives her a balanced perspective.

What You Need to Know Before Enrolling

Schedule Structure

Classes run Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 PM AEST. We also have Saturday morning sessions twice a month for extended case work. This isn't self-paced—you need to show up consistently.

Total commitment is roughly 8-10 hours per week including class time, readings, and assignments. Some weeks will be lighter, others heavier depending on project deadlines.

Prerequisites and Background

You should be comfortable with basic financial concepts and intermediate Excel. We won't teach you what a P&L statement is or how to create a pivot table—that foundation needs to be there already.

  • Understanding of fundamental accounting principles
  • Proficiency with Excel formulas and data analysis
  • Basic knowledge of financial markets and instruments
  • Ability to interpret financial statements

Program Investment

Tuition is ,850 for the full 12-week program. This includes all course materials, access to financial databases for assignments, and ongoing support from instructors. Payment plans are available if you need to split it into installments.

Early registration by July 31, 2025 receives 0 off standard tuition.

Application Process

We cap enrollment at 28 participants to maintain quality interaction. Applications open May 1, 2025. You'll submit a brief background statement and participate in a short interview to ensure the program aligns with your goals.

Advanced Portfolio Management Track

Program Timeline

This intensive runs from February 10 through April 28, 2026. It's designed for professionals who've already got foundational knowledge and want to go deeper into institutional-grade portfolio management.

Classes meet Monday and Wednesday evenings plus one full Saturday per month. Expect to dedicate 12-15 hours weekly between coursework and independent research projects.

Core Focus Areas

  • Multi-asset portfolio optimization and rebalancing strategies
  • Performance attribution analysis and reporting frameworks
  • Alternative investments integration and due diligence
  • Tax-efficient portfolio structuring for Australian investors
  • Client communication and investment policy statement development

What Sets This Apart

You'll manage a simulated portfolio throughout the program with realistic constraints—liquidity requirements, tax considerations, and client-specific mandates. This isn't hypothetical academic work; it mirrors what portfolio managers handle in practice.

Guest practitioners join for quarterly review sessions where you'll present your portfolio decisions and defend your approach. It's intense, but that's the point.

Enrollment Details

Program fee is ,200. We require completion of foundational investment training or equivalent professional experience. Applications for the 2026 cohort open September 2025 with rolling admissions until spots fill.
